Bitcoin for Fairness (BFF) hosted a Bitcoin meetup in Accra, Ghana as a closing event at the first Africa Bitcoin conference. BFF founder, Anita Posch, was in Accra where she spoke and moderated a panel at the Bitcoin Conference. During the meetup, we gave away the Bitcoin for Fairness Bitcoin flyer, which will be available in the local Akan Twi language soon.
The meetup took place at One Corner Garden, a restaurant which is accepting bitcoin.
We discussed the use cases of bitcoin for their specific situations, installed the BlueWallet and spoke about the importance of self-custody. We also did some practicals involving sending and receiving sats. A Trezor wallet was also donated to one of the participants.
BFF is a non-profit initiative raising knowledge and understanding of Bitcoin for people in emerging countries and for disadvantaged people. The Bitcoin meetups are part of its public bitcoin education activities. Other bitcoin meetups organised and sponsored by BFF have taken place in Zambia, Zimbabwe and Nigeria.
