Bitcoin for Fairness is sponsoring four local meetups organized by Bitcoin Famba in Mozambique. The first one took place on July 12th, 2025, at Luis Vinho Skate Park, home of Maputo Skate & Education.
The meetup brought together skaters, instructors, small business owners, and local vendors to learn about Bitcoin and how it can be used in everyday life. The goal was to help people understand how to earn, spend, and save with Bitcoin, laying the foundation for a local Bitcoin circular economy.

Through workshops, conversations, and real-world examples, participants explored how Bitcoin can offer more control over their money, especially for those without access to traditional banks. Skaters learned more than just tricks, they gained knowledge about financial freedom. Instructors, already active members of the community, deepened their roles by connecting sports, education, and digital tools. Local vendors, such as food stalls and beauty salons, explored how to accept Bitcoin and grow their businesses.

This meetup was part of a larger effort to support practical, community-based Bitcoin adoption – starting small, but aiming for long-term impact in the heart of Maputo.
